One of the reasons that I started this blog is that I actually like helping people … weird right?
It actually makes me very happy when I hear that the information that I provide allows someone to take that dream trip they otherwise wouldn’t have taken.
I love sharing these stories so if this blog has helped you out and you want to share your story, feel free to email me at jayce@pointsnerd.ca.
Today’s Reader Success Story comes from Lisa who was the contest winner from the my Finding Award Availability Series. For those that didn’t get a chance to read the series, the TLDR summary is that Lisa was looking to go from Montreal to Milan with a return from Geneva to Montreal.
Here’s Lisa’s email after the series concluded:
Hi Jayce,
Thanks so much for your tutorial on my award travel! I was so excited this morning to see it all laid out. I love that kind of analysis. I just wanted to follow up and let you know that my arrival and departure are somewhat fixed as we are joining a group from Toronto and will be touring with them (daughter’s hockey team). They have it scheduled so that they will depart on the 13th and arrive on the 14th of April. I think we are good with the outgoing options presented. For the departure they are scheduled to leave in the afternoon (I do not know when though) on the 23rd. I don’t want to leave too early as they might not arrive soon enough at the airport but I want to avoid paying for another night hotel. I will look in more detail tonight with what you presented so that I can book ASAP. This is so awesome though!!! Thank you thank you! I’ll be sure to let everyone know about your blog.
Cheers
Lisa
And here’s Lisa’s email after the booking:
Hi Jayce…just wanted to let you know that I booked my travel using the itinerary that you mapped out for me. I opted to leave on the 12th giving me the nicer Boeing 777 but I also decided to leave a day later as the group we are traveling with will not arrive at the airport early enough. Fortunately everything was still available. Thank you so much! It would have been overwhelming to do it myself for the first time but I am looking forward to trying it for myself. When I got off the phone with the call centre it was like an ikea commercial “start the car!”. I got the flights I wanted plus paid minimal taxes and fees!!!
Thanks again and keep up the good work…
Cheers,
Lisa
